My mother, Marion Lorenz, comes from an hotelier family. For almost 40 years she lived the life of an hotelier on Sylt, initially in her own hotel, the Hotel Kamphörn in Kampen, then as a manager and host of the Hotel Berlin in Wenningstedt. She raised two children. My sister is currently studying in the Netherlands, exploring the world and meeting people. I trained in hotel management and began to learn my profession in the long-established Hotel Stadt Hamburg in Westerland. But when I was in my vocational training, I already wanted to see the world and I came to the exciting City of Berlin, where I successfully completed my training at the Kempinski Hotel Bristol. In Berlin, I gained more valuable experiences in the 5*-hotel business - amongst others in the Four Seasons Hotel and in the Schlossgarten in Berlin-Grunewald, where I met my wife. Since 2007, we live with our children and our dog on Sylt once more, and in 2013, I became self-employed. I took on the Hotel Berlin and so far, I do not want to miss one day.
